Deepak-Raj Gupta is a Member for Yerrabi,in the ACT Legislative Assembly. Deepak is a proud member of the Australian Labor Party.
Deepak was raised in Chandigarh, India. In 1989, he emmigrated to Australia to study in Melbourne. Deepak moved to Canberra in 2001, and has lived in Gungahlin with his wife and two children for twenty years.
Prior to entering politics, Deepak had a successful professional career. He previously worked for the Department of Defence, and is the former chair of the Australia India Business Council.
Deepak is a long-standing community advocate. He has organised several multicultural programs in Canberra, including 'India in the City', the World Curry Festival, and events for the National Multicultural Festival.
In 2012, he was awarded the ACT Community Advocate award.
As the Member for Yerrabi, Deepak is focused on making Yerrabi a vibrant and happening place to live. Deepak is passionate about increasing opportunity and support for small businesses, creating more social and cultural events for the local community and working hard to make our schools, hospitals, and city services even better.
